OCR quality and limits
  • Up to 20 pages are processed per job. The page count is reserved before processing and finalized only after the searchable PDF is created.
  • Free and paid OCR page allowances are used first; additional pages consume one processing credit each. Failed jobs refund reserved credits.
  • Before OCR starts and again after it completes, the selected PDF is uploaded temporarily so the server can verify the actual page count and the same file was used. These verification copies are deleted immediately. Recognition still runs in your browser.
  • Page images stay in the original PDF. OCR text is positioned approximately using recognized word boxes.
  • Low-confidence recognition is reported per page. Review important text against the scanned page.
  • Recognition runs locally in your browser. PDF.js and Tesseract.js are loaded from their public CDNs.
Privacy

The full PDF is uploaded briefly for server-side page-count and file-identity verification, then deleted immediately; it is not retained for OCR. PDF rendering, text recognition, and output creation run locally in your browser. PDF.js, Tesseract.js, and language assets load from public CDNs.
